Tekkobot

Mascot for Tekko, Pittsburgh's anime convention

Conceptually, I can't take ALL the credit for Tekkobot. A few members of the creative team at the Pittsburgh Japanese Culture Society (PittJCS) illustrated various iterations before everyone turned to me to digitally paint this final draft. This particular piece was my effort to honor and combine all the ideas with my own spin, and henceforth Tekkobot has been a huge hit.

From merchandise all the way up to a life-size suit built by a special effects engineer, Tekkobot has made his rounds. He even found his way into a trading card game, earning his own card and abilities.

My part doesn't stop at this concept art, however. I went on to collaborate with the art team to create a short comic for his grand unveiling, and I even created the "Rockstar" badge illustration. All of these and more can be seen on Tekko's mascot page .
